JD 350B Final Drive Removal

Post by Jamie Dunn » Thu Jul 03, 2025 5:39 pm

I have removed every bolt and loosened the brake band. I cannot get the final drive to brake loose from the transmission. Any help?

Did you remove the 2 bolts on the backside that go thru the steering clutch housing?

I got the final drive out and apart! Went well. Now I need a new (used) flanged axle. I got one but the splines are much more course. This is for a JD 350B. Any ideas where I can find one?

I have been looking up parts for a JD 350B as marked on machine. The Serial # 350CE 328147T. Is it a 350C or 350B? I ordered a used flanged axle shaft and the one shiped has 20 splines and the one in the dozed has 43 splines.

If your serial number is true to the machine then you have a 350C. If your final drive that you removed had oil in it before you removed it, then it is a wet clutch machine which will also indicate it being a 350C and not a 350B. A 350B will have dry steering clutches and no oil inside the housing.
