This is in addition to my below post...
I did a continuity check between my f terminal and generator case. I did have continuity, which my information tells me I have a type B generator. I also had continuity from the A terminal to case and between A and B. This doesn't agree with the information below. Does that mean my generator is messed up or? Was I supposed to remove the F wire before doing the tests? Sorry for all the questions but I don't want to mess anything up by jumping terminals with the crawler running.

Test it with the wires unhooked from the generator. The field contacts in the regulator ground the generator field to control generator output.

With the F and A wires disconnected from the generator I have 7 ohms between F stud and gen body, 3 ohms between A stud and generator body and 3 ohms between A stud and F stud. Would this indicate a problem with the generator?
