Hi all,
I picked up a nice 1010C with a six way blade and a reverser. Starts ok for an IDI machine and exhaust is clear in operation once warm. Machine has excellent power, reverser is crisp. Sprockets look decent, rails are probably a legit 50% and the growsers are probably similar. Machine has excellent power and will spin the tracks with too much blade load. The blade bushings probably need doing, but all the cylinders are tight and it doesn't leak a drop. The machine has been owned since 1974 by the same guy who died last year (at 90 something) and his sons (who are 70 and 66) had no need of it. Seen lots of maintenance over the years, but the hour meter only reads 800 ish hours. it is unknown if it is original.
The injection pump umbrella seal is failed and it dumped about a gallon of diesel into the sump in about 90 minutes of operation. Changed the oil (15W40) and filter and checked oil pressure and I'm a solid 45 cold and 40 hot at idle so the diesel didn't hurt anything. Still 'makes oil' at a slow rate, so the seal hasn't self-healed. On the plus side, the diesel should have helped clean out any sludge lol.
Question for the group is who do you know that rebuilds these old Roosa-Master pumps and does a good job? I've seen lots of good youtube content from Area Diesel Service. I'm in the PNW by seattle, so if there are any quality local(ish) to me places that would be good as well.
I thought it was an early machine (that's what the seller thought), but upon doing some research it appears to be either a later tractor or a bit of a frankintractor. Later motor, it has the later injectors. The transmission gear lever is down low, but it has the earlier dash with the pattern in it. There is the remains of a tag on the bellhousing and no tag on the motor further telling me that the machine (or engine and bellhousing) are a later model, just with an earlier dash. I'm thinking that its a 64 or 65 machine. I've seen reference to a 'two piece reverser cover' staring at 42000, but I'm not sure what that looks like. Any help would be appreciated.
It came with an early motor (pencil injectors) as a spare, a reverser with a broken bellhousing, a bunch of rollers for parts, a bunch of other parts (including a bunch of clutches and steels), a button grease gun and a manual. The old man built an amazing canopy with an integrated ROPS. Looks factory and keeps the operator station bone dry.
Finally, I have no need for a lot of the parts off of the pile it came with. As I understand it, the pencil injectors are NLA from any source, same with the associated head. I'd be open to reasonable offers if anyone is interested. Do pictures need to be externally hosted? And if so, what is the preferred hosting site these days, or can I just share from my google drive?

Look on the right side of the reverser case, just inside the frame rail. There's an external filter housing cover that is 1 long piece pre-42000. 3 bolts at the top, 4 at the bottom. The whole piece is about 12" high, 4 inches wide. After 42000, the oil passageway was moved to be internal, and you'll only see the square 4-bolt filter cover.

Excellent, thanks!
Re: New to me 1010C dozer
Turns out to be a 42000+ machine. So probably a 65 then. I removed the pump and injectors and took them to Seattle Injectors to have a once over.
