I wonder: Would it be easier to get a winch, including the PTO, versus trying to get a PTO alone?

Also, on the three point hitch: Could this be cobbed together from parts?

Winch does not run with pto shaft, different shaft.

Folks, just to clarify, do the winch shafts run out of the same PTO hole in the 350 transmission, or is there a separate transmission hole that a winch driveshaft goes into? I have a 93A backhoe mounted now, so can not see right now, myself.

Yes, same output spot, but different shafts and parts if that makes sense.

Hi,

The trans internals are different for the winch drive than the PTO drive. Yes, the same hole, but then different shafts. The winch drive has no in/out lever, and you have one, so you need the PTO shaft. I don't recall that the winch drive shaft will fit the PTO internals.

You can find the various 3-pt parts here and there from junk yards perhaps. Might be tough to do now as these machines qualify as ancient. And a very small number of the total produced ever had those parts.

You won't be adapting 3-pt parts from anything else though. They are pretty specific to the crawler since they sport down pressure. And I don't think the 450 3-pt option use the same parts. I'd expect them to be heavier. Not that I have ever seen a 450 with a 3-pt.....

There is also the Ripper option. That was a crossbar that went up and down with two hyd cylinders. The bar has slots for shanks. But, if I were trying to make up a 3-pt, I think I would modify a ripper to get something that would work more or less. You would also have to fab up a top link support. There would have been a greater number of rippers built than 3-pt units, so might be easier to find.
