After replacing my rt. side final drive axle I was using my drive sprocket to "load" my track back on and the drive stopped turning....found no oil on transmission dip stick...poured 3 gallons of oil in and drive started turning again, for about 2mins. The trans. oil is transferring to the brake/clutch housing (housing between rear of tranny and final drive) the oil gushes out of the fill plug of that housing! Has anyone experienced this? All was fine before the broken axle. If so what was the cure? Thanks!
A 450C does move/transfer oil to the finals and back to the main housing so my guess is that a 550C does the same thing. Your manual would explain all that.
