Soon to restart on my 420C

Post by Lu47Dan » Fri Sep 14, 2018 2:03 pm

Since I have most of other projects done around here and am ready to go back into the trades. I will be returning to the restoration on my crawler.
I have one more project to do before the crawler, that is replacing the roof on the shop as it is leaking. Once that is done I can move my machines into the front part of the shop and have an open bay to work in.
There are a few things I have go decide on, one is what to do with the track chains. New pins and bushing, as the sprockets are good or convert to 350 sprockets and chains.
One question that needs answered is what is the height of my rails. Need to get the tracks rolled out and check that.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Dan.

For rebushing, I like to see at least a half inch of rail where the rollers ride on.

Okay, I have the rails and grousers rolled up on pallets . It will take my neighbors tractor to get them lifted up and unrolled.
