Hi dtoots1,

Its near you, maybe you can run over and get a viewing. You could check for track frame wear where the idler brackets run. There a couple things I noticed that maybe nothing. Overspray on the hourmeter, the serial number tag has paint around the edge like it was masked off for painting, the photo of the dash shows a capscrew head that appears to have been wrenched on, pedal still has paint on it where I would expect more scuffed off in 26 hours. These things make me think the paint has been freshened at least. Regardless it does look great.

Jim

It sure does look nice and i have a hard time believing someone spend that much time restoring it to that level. That would be someones chance to get a NEW dozer with NO emissions... :) I would go for it if the lottery would step up for me.

Very sharp looking machine. Just curious though, did they come from the factory with the hydraulic lines painted like that?

Somebody with a 350 dozer needs to go to his house and move the load of horse manure he is putting out. The hoses are painted, blade has been cut and repaired to get tilt cylinder top pin out. The boot around the tilt cylinder is missing, the serial number tag has oversprayon it there is no paint on the face of the pads. Only the grousers should have the paint worn off. I have crawlers I have restored with 10 times that claimed hours, and there is more paint than that on the tracks.
He is either a crook or a fool.

Agree with you guys!
Someone has done some work on the tilt cylinder (no boot/welding on guard), and the engine side covers were removed recently (probably to paint). I also think the original OEM seat looked different (had vertical ribs in it?)
Remember, 350-C hourmeters are electric, fairly easy to have some"inaccuracies"!
It's definitely been painted recentley, or kept under a car cover in a climate controlled garage
Not to say it isn't a nice crawler, but I've got about 30 hours on mine since it's "resurrection", and it doesn't look that shiny , it's shed kept, and that was only 3-4 years ago.
Just look at the transmission/steering clutches/finals compared to the fuel tank/battery box and hyd tank, something happened, it's almost like they painted the top half? Or didn't clean all the dirt off the bottom?

Hi,

Well, it ended with no buyers but had 56 watchers. It was off a couple days and then relisted. It has since been pulled early 'due to an error in the listing'. Usually, that is eBay seller-speak for 'I sold it outside eBay because I don't want to pay my seller fees'.

In this case, I think the error was genuine. ;)

Hi,

Yeah. Original price was $40k. So, a small discount. I looked, and this doesn't show up in his Completed Listings, but they only go back 30 days. So he might have had a fish on the hook who wriggled off. ;)
