Good afternoon all.
I have a 1959 440 IC gas that isn't charging. Could someone tell me if this came with a type A or type B generator? I believe i know how to polarize correctly bit I do need to know which type generator it is. If anyone wants to give the procedure for polarizing, that would be OK too. It would also be nice to know what to jumper to make the generator output fully.
Thanks.

Re: 440 IC gas generator
The original was a Delco Remy type A.
Grounding the field terminal of the generator will give full output.
To polarize the generator use a jumper wire and flash between the Battery and Generator (armature) terminals of the regulator. Or use a jumper wire and flash power to the generator (armature) terminal of the generator itself.
