leakey reverser

Post by john lewis » Thu Oct 23, 2008 11:20 am

Hi glad to say old girl working pretty good she pushed 69 loads of clay and didnt seem to mind. But i got a crack in reverser on other side of shaft hard to get to and im wondering if i dont use reverser would it hurt to run it dry, right now i keep it wrapped in diappers but they keep coming off. I also thought about putting grease in there, and continue to use reverser, looking for whatever advice i can get.I think i read somewhere and i cant seem to find it now reverser switched to driveshaft with nut or something, starting to get cold here so i would like to wait for summer to pull her apart thanks john

The reverser must have oil in it whether used or not.

No, it will not lube the small needle bearings that are in the reverser.
