1010 Crawler Clutch Fork Shaft

Post by JAJ » Fri Mar 27, 2009 2:19 pm

Does anyone know specifically what the diff is between the R.H & L.H. clutch fork shaft. I have the one I took out of the crawler which some mental giant had welded the control arm to the shaft, totally screwing up the top of the shaft. I also have a spare that I would like to use in the L.H. side to replace the welded up one. In the Tech Manual it says that the R.H. shaft has either a stamped letter "R" or a detent in the top of the shaft. My spare shaft has what I would call a "center drill" (is this what they are calling a "DETENT") with no letter "R" stamped in it. I can not varify on the original, welded up shaft, if it was center drilled or not. When I compare the two they seem to be identical except the original one is shorter then my spare with the center drill. It is shorter on the bottom end based on lining up the ball seats and the split pin holes. I am worried that the wrong shaft was in the machine and that is why the guy had to weld it??? Lavoy, do you have a L.H. shaft #T14001T if I need it?
Any help would be appreciated.
