440 ic paint

hello,its time to get blaster going and to get the right paint.you see john deere paint all over in catalogs to fleet stores.i know there where other posts on the paint subject,but i get dizzy reading all that.does any one know what parts of 440 ic loader were painted yellow and which were black?any one have any luck with the industrial yellow that valu-built catalog sells?im going to try my best on this paint job,so i would like to get the colors and scheme right.thanks guys

Only thing that is black is the decals and the hoses, the rest is yellow. I use the Deere industrial yellow, not that pricey.

Make sure you get the old construction yellow for construction equipment before Nov. 1st, 1992. Its TY24354 at Deere. Pat

And the radiator grill is black.

................and the head light and tail light metal shells are black, along with the dash. Lights can be gloss or semi gloss black, dash should be flat black.

I have never seen ones I knew to be in original condition but was the radiator always painted black and were the starter and generator always yellow?

Duh, I forgot about dash and grille, sorry. Starter and generator are yellow. I use a semi-gloss on the dash, it looks a little better to me.
