1010 final drive Gearbox specs

Post by shanleyj » Sun Apr 18, 2010 3:48 am

Hi guy's i need some info to rebore a bearing diameter for my box the inboard bearing diameter for the output shaft is chewed out and the bearing completely missing i dont have a parts manual only a service manual can anyone give me the cup and cone numbers for that bearing but more importantly i need the dimension between the shoulders of the bearing housings as i will either have to build up with weld to re-machine the retaining shoulder or shrink a stepped sleave into it. i have all other bearings except this one .
Can anyone help
Regards John.

disregard this post as he is reffering to the final, not the trans.

don't get off track guys, he's talking about the trans,,.
aay mate?
hang in there, if you don't get an answer soon, i think the later 440 has the same trans. so if thats true, i think your looking for JD p/n8225,bearing cup. and JDp/n8187 cone bearing.
if this is it,,, my book says that there are 3 of these used in the trans,, so look at what you got , might be able to confirm this,,,that same bearing assembly is at the rear end of that input shaft ,,, also used on the nose of the output pinion shaft....
the input shaft preload setting is .002 to .004 end play,, and attained using shims...
let me know if this is helping....
440icd/602/8a,,440icd/831/ripper,,440icd/831/3pt.,misc. 440 parts, i have 5 of these now, but i can stop anytime
