Post by russ61 » Mon Feb 13, 2012 4:25 pm

Hi,ran across a backhoe for a 1010 crawler for sale.Mine doesnt have the mount system for it .Does anybody have one they would part with?Haven't seen the hoe yet ,are there good models and bad models to stay away from? How hard would it be to plumb my crawler?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Russ-

If you add a hoe bracket to your 1010, you will also need to add the plumbing (hoses, valves, etc.) to run off your existing loader hydraulics system.

You will need to stay with an open center backhoe if you add one to the 1010. The original models that came with a 1010 are a Model 50 (center of tractor) or 51 (slider).

Newer JD backhoe attachment models are heavier and some are closed center than tyhe 50 or 51. If you are really adventurous, others on this board have adapted non-Deere backhoes to their JD crawlers.
(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment

if you go to johndeere.com construction parts catalog model 50 back hoe and go page 34 you can see all of the bracketing that it takes and you will need to put some weight on the front of the tractor also 600#? maybe//// page 37 .......and your dozer is a model 616 or a 624 the catalog also shows all of the other things you need pump, oil res.,relief valve, ect. hope this helps

Completely different, would take extensive modification.

All the 2010 mounts are very different from any of the 1010 mounts. And the 1010 mounts are not all the same either. It depends on what dozer or loader is on the 1010.

I'm going to assume that if you can find a 1010 with a ripper-mount in the back - that will also fit the 50 and 51 backhoes.

If you were in the central New York area - I'd love to sell you a backhoe "kit" for your 1010. I've got an Allis Chalmers hoe that is just the right size. The former owner had mounts custom made so it fit his Deere 350 outside-blade dozer. It would be a perfect setup for a 1010 but the brackets would a little reworking to fit a 1010. It's set up for a 350 as it is.

A lot more bracketry than I thought!I didn't realize it attached to the front trunnion bar also.It IS possible to fab up but would take some time and steel to do it right. For now I'll just keep looking.Theres one somewhere!
