john deere 2010 crawler fenders
john deere 2010 crawler fenders
Hi! Can anyone help me? I'm restoring an old jd 2010 crawler (2000series)I'm currently making up some new fenders for it but I need measurements. Can anyone tell me the length of them at the top and the width at the top? Also I'm looking for 16 fibre discs and 14 steel discs for the steering clutch second hand or new. Jack UK

Hi Jack-
Welcome to the board.
Can you define a little further what you mean by "fenders"? I am not aware of fenders on the 2010 crawler but it may be a difference in terminology between us. The 2010 crawlers have a front grill shroud (nose) and then a hood that extends fronm the front shroud over the fuel tank to the instrument pedestal. There were also optional engine shields below the hood on each side but are hard to find and my crawlers don't have them.
If you need the hood dimensions and no one else gets you them before the weekend, I can take some measurements when I get down to my farm.
As for steering clutch friction fiber discs and the steels, the board administrator (Lavoy) can get them new or they are available new from Deere or aftermarket. I have heard that you need to be careful about new aftermarket (if not purchased from Lavoy) because some of those sold on Ebay are brittle.

Hi Tigerhaze, Thanks for replying. My crawler was a loader but now I'm making it an agricultural crawler tractor. By the fenders, I mean the wings on each side of the footplates.Tigerhaze wrote:Hi Jack-

You are correct in your parts terminology- I was focused on loaders and forgot that the fenders adjacent to the footrests. If no one else gets to it before the weekend, I can get measurements of the fenders off of my 2010 dozer.JACK wrote: Hi Tigerhaze, Thanks for replying. Hi Jack-
The weather here this weekend prevented me from going to my farm (about an hour away)- unfortunately was not able to get measurements. I am willing to get them when I go this coming weekend but don't want to hold up your project.
Sorry about that

Good morning Jack (or evening for you)
Sorry about the delay, but finally had time at work to pull the information together. The fenders have an assymetrical cross section- they are on a 2010 dozer so not sure if that makes a difference or not. Both fenders are 3 feet, 4 and a half inches long and approximately 10 inches wide.
However the left fender (when sitting on the machine) is much shallower on the outer edge and deeper than the inner edge than on the right side. Best i can tell that is because of the hydraulic hoses for the dozer blade.
I have attached photos of all the measurements so you can see yourself, plus have an idea of the cutouts and bevels on the edges. Feel free to ask questions if it is confusing in any way- hppe this helps:
