420 crawler reverser same as rubber tire 420?

Just wondering if the gear type reverser is the same on a rubber tire as a crawler? My reverser has some pretty good damage on my 57 420 and a shop here thinks he has a reverser from a rubber tire that will work. Is this possible?

The parts are the same. Only difference would be the under 100,000 units use a couple different parts.
