40c fenders without dimples ?

I just brought home a 40c and noticed the fenders do not have dimples like my MC's ? These definetly look factory but am wondering why there are no dimples like all my mc's have? did deere change these fenders on the 40c? The parts book I have for 40c does not show dimples for part number am 2383 t right side or am 2382 t left side however the two pictures of the 40c in the beginning of parts book (left view) (right view) does show the fender dimples? Would love to get to the bottom of this! thanks

Smooth fenders are 420/430.
