Do you mean the nuts? On a 420, track adjustment is by turning the nuts on the threaded rod, unless I misunderstood.

oh sorry i was talking about the threaded rod. I just wanted to put new threaded rod on and get new nuts as well, since I have the crawler tore down as far as I do.

The bolts are ungodly expensive, or at least were, not sure they are even available any more. Normally I run a die over the bolts, and put on new nuts.

I just made one up from a piece of threaded rod as suggested. On mine one rod had corroded very badly. The rod and nuts together were far less than the cost of a die, The rod was in stock at Tractor Supply.

stainless steel

If you do replace bolts/nuts, be aware that stainless are less than a grade 3 bolt in terms of strength. generally o/k for sheetmetal but NOT recommended for any chassis/steering components. looks good, just not that strong. I would go @ least to a grade 5 hardware on tractor/crawler stuff.

i agree and i'm replacing pretty much all the undercarriage bolts with new grade 8 botls. i know somebody else mentioned all thread from tractor supply but its only grade 3, i've been looking for grade 8 stuff.

I dunno, despite being only grade 3 the threaded rod seems to be holding up fine. Worked it all season without issue.
