2010 injection pump nightmare

Post by greesysaff » Fri Dec 07, 2012 8:55 am

I was wondering if anybody knows if a DB0429-0494 can be replaced by a DB0429-XXXX the local salvage says they have three pumps that have the same first numbers but the last four digits are all different. I really hate to spend good money after bad. My original pump was rebuilt in Feburary and after a few trips back to the pump shop to check to see if it was working because I could never get it to bleed out. The last time there they said the head/rotor assembly locked up and broke the driveshaft. They want $1100 to fix it after they have about $900 of my money since Feb and I have never had my machine hit a lick. I am wanting to buy a whole used pump to start with now but don't want to buy one that won't work. The salvage said the last four digits are just serial numbers but they aren't sure. Can anyone help with this question?

the head jamming , you may have not put both seal washers on one of the banjo bolts if you drop one and don't know it and tighten the bolt it WILL jam the head and break the shaft/fuse ....i speak from experience (don't laugh guys) about 25 years ago i will never forget that or make that mistake again as long as i live
