When you get it back together, you have to let her drive it for her help, right??

oh its already been established that she IS pushing some dirt with this dozer. My wife and I are expecting a little boy within the next month, i was watching some videos on youtube of jd crawlers and the baby started kicking. So of course now everday I have to play it for him and he just kicks away. I may end up needing a crawler for each of them.

420C Rebuild

Post by RacinJason » Mon Mar 18, 2013 9:11 am

Those are some great pics, 57JD420. I should be swapping my 40C for a 420C next month. Hopefully I'll be able to get some work out of it before I have to do a lot of work on it. Those photos will be a grat inspiration, though, and will give me some insight as to what is involved!

so had it all put back together 2 weeks ago and ready to start up... found out the starter was bad. got the starter back and on and yesterday finally ready to pull the knob, AND.... it will not fire!!!! so after a lot of beating our heads off the wall and referring to the manual numerous times to make sure we had everything correct, still nothing. want to say a big thank you to Lavoy for answering the phone and helping us figure out what the problem is. its running like a champ......but we have a massive hydraulic pump. so now the radiator is back off and the hydraulic pump is on the bench torn down.

oh the fun of owning a crawler!!! ha ha

Looking good. Ok I got to ask, dose anybody know what the 2 holes are for that are in the tube that is on the left side of the seat directly behind the backrest? I see yours has them also. I almost welded mine up un till I saw them on other tractors?
