Help... this isnt what my plan was.. i was hoping to get a direction reverser from Lavoy but i have a guy in the next town that has one he wants to trade me with one.. but i am unsure... does the 420 reverser fit in the 440? if not it will be back to plan A getting a good one from Lavoy when i am back to work in the spring.. thanks... scampr

Totally different.
You need one from the same model.
Even in the 440 model there is a split.

There is one exception, if the 420 was above 131,309 it could have a clutch type reverser, but you will not have any of the shifter linkage needed for the 440.

i think he wants to do some trading so i might grab it .(((parts is parts )))I have a feeling it might have been going for scrap so its worth saving.
The donor machine is supposedly still there so try to get the # off that.
