430

Post by Paul Koski » Fri Feb 01, 2013 4:01 pm

I don't see much chatter about the 430 Model, can a person still get parts for it? Other than the obvious track, rail and roller wear, are there any other problems to look for on the 430 when looking to purchase one?

A good bit of parts are still available thru John Deere, there is also a lot of aftermarket parts available too, and Lavoy always has a great selection of parts. I think there was only a little over 2000 of the 430c's produced, so they are more rare than the 420's which there was around 20000 produced. There is a ton of things to look for when purchasing one of these older crawlers but there is always something that needs attention because of the age. The big money items in my opinion is definitely the undercarriage.

There is a substantial parts commonality between 420, 430, and 440, so 420 is really no worse than the others.

I know of 4 430IC not far from me waiting to be resurrected.
If I had the coin I would scoop them up.
The 5th one is original with full 3 point!
