This is a hydraulic component from my 1959 JD 440IC. In addition to identifying the part, I would like to know if I can eliminate it from the system and plumb directly from the control valve to the cylinders. I have ordered a manual for the loader but I am impatient and really curious about my options. Thank you.

Just looks like a junction to run another hydraulic attachment. I don't see any control valve so,I would guess that you could remove it. gregjo1948

That is the diverters for the return to dig function. I would guess you can remove them and plumb directly, but you will no longer have the return to dig function, which is not a real big deal.
