Hydraulic Pump

Post by Wall:E » Mon Apr 01, 2013 3:12 pm

Well, the hydraulic shop evaluated the pump from my 440 loader and it's shot so I need a replacement. Of course the six spline shaft has long been replaced and the mount does not appear to accommodate modern designs. Before I go and order a new pump and have another mount machined to hold the gal on the machine, I would like to know what my options are, if I have any, with using the old mount and buying a new pump. If you could provide me the brand and model #'s I would be most appreciative. Some of the dated posts refer to Cessna pumps and such but I can't find those on current listings. Anyway, I need help.

Wall E, If you can track down an original pump mounting plate it might make your search easier. The Cessna pump uses a standard 2 bolt A or B face ( I can't remember which), so any other pump you buy should bolt right to the factory JD mounting plate.
You can also use a Hydreco pump, which has a different mounting face, but is a bigger pump which is probably what you need if you have a loader.

I should specify that those pumps are for a 440ICD. The gas motor has a different pump I believe and mounted in a different location on the motor.

Update: went with a Parker pump, Cross valve and a Lentz in-line filtration system.
