blade control

Post by 57jd420 » Sun Apr 28, 2013 9:02 pm

does anybody have any detailed pics of what the dual lever control looks like with the springs and the tab that goes on there?? this might be a stupid question but can somebody shed some light on how exactly its suppose to work??

the spring isn't available through john deere, does anyone know where a replacement can be obtained, or does anyone have specs on an original?

57jd420 is probably referring to the spring in the float control portion of the valve. A valve with float control may have been an option but is frequently found with the bulldozer blade. Look in the parts manual for the blade or it may be included in the parts manual for the JD1010 itself. Even if Deere does not make it any more, your dealer should be able to use the system to see if other dealers may have one in their on-site inventory. Gil

He is talking about the float lever spring on a 420.
No, they are not available, best bet is to find something at a hardware store that handles spring assortments, and get as close as you can.

okay guys thanks, I will look at the hardware for a spring. Any input on how it works exactly and has anyone rebuild the levers?? The set I have seem to have a good bit of slop in them, didn't know what was normal or what anyone else has done.

New pins, new pivot bushing, put a large diameter flat washer on the lever pivot bolt, little things like that will help.
