Hydraulic filtration

I'm speaking of a 1959 440IC (Loader) that has received a new Parker pump, Cross Valve, all new hoses and I would like to add external filtration to replace the in-tank technology. Anyone see any issues with installing a canister (25 micron) on the return line?

Shouldn't hurt anything, just make sure it has a high enough flow rate.
