Master Pin
I thought $55 bucks was nuts. For that kind of money I'll weld a chunk
to the end of a standard pin dress it to shape on the grinder and
cut an snap ring groove on the other end with the lathe.
You could even cut the snap ring groove with a cutoff wheel in
a pinch.I hate doing stuff like what I've just described but i think
it's preferable to welding a pin to the master link.

My track re-builder turned down and left a shoulder on a left over pin from a larger set of tracks. He turned a groove for a c-clip on the other end. We ground parallel flats to match the link's retainer and put them to work - so far so good. My only concern is how hard the pin is now - we have removed much of the hardened surface; time will tell. This just cost us time since we were re-using old pins. Paul

Now that they have gotten that ridiculous, I will probably have to take a look at it, just lots of other irons in the fire.

YES AND NO 1010 and the early 2010 have smaller pins unless they have been updatedLavoy, I understand what you mean. Hope you didn't take my last post as a jab at you. That wasn't my intention. Was just very shocked to see they were that much since they are also used on the 1010, 2010 and 350 - 350c.
2010 with 622 dozer with mod. 35 ripper and a 2010 with 622 dozer bought in 1969 and a 2010 loader with drott and mod. 36 ripper
The funny part is the 350 and late 2010 pin is not all that bad.

I want to say that the last time I bought an early 2010 master pin from Deere ( ayear or two back) that it was $45 so unfortunately appreciate the update.
