440 on eBay up to 7200

Post by robk » Mon Jun 03, 2013 11:47 am

I've been watching this one on eBay. It's up to $7200. They often "return from the sold" when the buyer doesn't show up. This will be interesting.

Expensive paint job.
Anyone with just half of a brain working part of the time can determine that a 50 + year old piece of equipment has more than 4,000 + hours on it.
Let me see, that comes to about 75 hours a year.
Only if it was purchased and owned by a hobby farmer, maybe?
When an operator will not run a DD 2-53 wide open, it is sure sign that there are some engine issues. They are made to run just under 2,000 RPM, and will actually stay together above that speed.
