1010 Reverser Fluid

Post by whiteclipse16 » Wed Aug 07, 2013 6:14 am

We're in the process of putting the 1010 back together and I need to know what fluid goes in the reverser.
I searched and read a few mixed answers. I have two different revisions of the service manual and they say different things.
So, which is correct:
ATF
5w20 Engine oil
Hyguard

ATF usage

Post by JWB Contracting » Wed Aug 07, 2013 11:17 am

We use ATF in our 350 reversers as it makes the engine easier start in cold weather. Probably for 20 plus years with no oil related failures. Our failures are normally bearings and seals only, probably due to higher horsepower engines and wide tracks.

THG is what is called for, same price as ATF at Walmart.
