I had a 24 volt 1010 a couple years ago. Didn't start very well on 12 volts! :? I bought it from son of father that passed away. I don't think he knew it was 24 volt. I winched it on my trailer to get it home and proceeded to try to fire it up on 12 volt battery. Ended up removing the starter, thinking it was shot, finding the starter #'s revealing that it was indeed a 24 volt. Started right up with 2 12 volt batteries. Whoda guessed that? gregjo1948

No problem!
If you are looking for a rebuild shop let me know.
There is a local shop here that works on the old starters and generators.
Might be good to have it tested.
Could be time to replace cables and make sure the connections are good.
JT thanks for the comic relief!!

OK
My bad!!
Just reviewed my post and edited it.
The Diesel starter has 9 teeth! Not 10 as previously stated.
The gas starter has 10 teeth!
I will find my list of tag #s so there won't be confusion.

If a Delco Remy it would be a 1108672 tag # for the diesel 1010.
