Pic request: Drott 4-1 bucket level indicator

Post by Labparamour » Sun Dec 22, 2013 10:21 pm

Still looking for an example so I can fab up my own...New-to-me 450 track loader is missing the bucket level indicator (among other things!). Parts catalog has rough diagram of the indicator but I was wondering if any members here could post a pic of the indicator on the bucket cylinder to assist me in fabricating a replacement? Found a few pics of basic machine but no close-ups. I also have my wheel tractor's indicator so could make something that works but thought it would be nice to have it look fairly OEM.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

this pic shows it pretty good if you zoom in on it pretty simple to make one I did pretty much the same thing on a case skip loader 3/8 pipe and 5/16 rod http://hespecialties.com/uploads/2/8/2/ ... 4_orig.jpg

Thanks! That's what I was looking for. This will be my next project.
I had seen a video for IH that showed markings on the cylinder for dig as well as clamshell position.

loader level indicator

Based on the pictures jt Richard provided us I was able to create a bucket level indicator on my JD 450 crawler/loader. Works great, no more guessing :D

level indicator

This is the setup, will look better painted, used 1/2 inch conduit and 3/8 all thread. Bent the flat bar with different holes to find the best angle. Used it extensively today, no gouging. :D :D
link seems to work

Nice looking set-up! Level indicator looks good. My indicator is inthe back burner. Mounted a seat and taking care of a fuel leak…it's always something!
Will certainly use the ideas shown here when I build mine.

Finally got this project done. I used the pictures found here plus the indicator on my compact wheel tractor. Now to actually use the machine! Got some trees down and used the 4-1 to load logs. Have some areas to level before our winter rains set in.
