420 c final drive
Looking at a 1957 420 right side final drive busted where top brg. for pinion shaft rides. The three bolt cover that holds brg. in is ok but housing broke where it bolts to. Bolts loose where torque tube bolts to transmission. This a common problem with these? Big fix? Parts hard to find? It's a 5 roller 5 speed with gearmatic winch 6 way blade.
I should have a final case on hand. I have seen the bolts come loose, it is definitely something I would fix, not run.

your final
a little BLUE Locktite does the trick for keeping those bolts tight, and course they need to be at least Grade 5

Hey Diesel Dog,
Pretty certain you gave me a ring the other day. I don't have a final drive housing. There is a guy in Montrose Pa that has lots if parts but I hear he is a bit salty. Not sure of what salty means since I never called him, but that may help. Lavoy probably has something
Send us some pics so we can see what it looks like.
Seen em welded good and bad, broken, in all sorts of shape. Very critical piece in my opinion since it holds the outer tapered bearing for the pinion gear shaft assembly.
