PTO Overrun
PTO Overrun
Since the PTO is tied through the transmission on the 420, should I get a PTO overun device to make sure it doesn't cause problems using a rotary mower?
I know that I can just pull the steering clutches back but what y'all think about this?
How do I know if I have the continuous running PTO or not?

If man can break it man can fix it .. it just takes time and money.

Hi,
According to the Deere manuals, all crawlers are equipped with a live PTO. By pulling on both steering levers. Honest! It is in the book!
I use an overrun on the PTO shaft myself.
Only certain wheel tractor models came with the 2 stage clutch pedal. It was an option on most of them. It was never an option on the crawlers, nor on any wheel tractor equipped with a reverser.

Hi,
And, don't forget 'independent' with its own control and clutch!

Hi,
The store names change by region, but they all carry such. You can also get at any color new equipment dealer, but would cost more at one of those of course.
Also, you can use our local supply store here in NC, as they do a large online business. Agri-Supply:
