1943 BOLindeman roller help

Post by neilc42 » Thu Mar 27, 2014 11:28 pm

Still working on replacing my track pads - slowly - but stated to looking at the 3 rollers. I have a few end caps (TE45 , TE46) with cracks on the OD. Are they shot or can they be welded. I see you have some for sale Lavoy. Also I have some TE45Y, can I use them instead?

Also some of the track roller shafts (TE43 or TE745) have a small grease hole in the end and others have a larger hole and a spring and a 5/8 ball bearing. Is there a manual that shows these differences? I have the Lindeman parts catalog but it doesn't show enough detail.

I presume some of these parts came off a later model? I don't mind mix n match if I do it right and they can be greased.

Lots of the caps have cracks, this is normal, no need to weld, probably won't work any how.
The spring loaded ball doohickey will thread out and you can put zerks in if you want.

Lindeman track frame spacing

Post by neilc42 » Fri Mar 28, 2014 3:20 pm

My 43 Lindeman also needs new track frame bolts and spacers. What should the spacer length be? I measured and they all vary between 7 to 7.5 in? Does it depend on how much the roller bearing sleeves and the rollers are worn? or does it depend on the roller shaft length?

Don't know the exact length off the top of my head, but they should all be the same, someone has done some altering.
