what kind of manual do i need

I have purchased a 59 jd 440ice.my first tractor.I know absolutely nothing about it so I ordered a repro service manual but wasn't what I expected,is there a manual showing wiring diagrams,hose diagrams act.guess I am used to a Chilton manual for autos.thanks for any help.

Get factory or copies of factory parts and service manuals, the I & T manuals are good for fire starter only.

Yes get factory manuals.
There are 3 for the 440ICD.
GM2-53 service manual
John Deere 440 service manual
440ICD Parts catalog
