1010 gas starter wiring

Post by Steelburner » Tue May 06, 2014 8:19 am

Hello everyone!

I had to rebuild the starter on my 1010 gasoline crawler loader and the masking tape label on the wire fell off. I can't remember if the wire goes to the "s" terminal or the "r" terminal. Does something attach to the opposite terminal then?

Thanks!

Thanks jtrichard. What is a hot start? Is that like jumping the relay with a screwdriver?

no HOT START is for cars/trucks with coil/points that have an external resistor on the coil ......when your cranking it throws full 12 volts to the coil bypassing the resistor which drops the voltage to 6 volts to the coil when running..... you can put hot start on any gas engine that has a coil/points and a resistor so it starts much easier when cold it doubles the spark
