1010c Steering Clutch

Post by 1010c » Wed May 28, 2014 8:14 pm

Hello everyone on my 1010c the right clutch works well most of the time without pulling the lever all the way back. The left steering clutch does work but you have to pull all the way back and hard. Do you think it is worn or just out of adjustment. Also the previous owner stored the dozer for many years and said the tractor clutches were stuck then he pored diesel down them to free them could this be part of the trouble? Thank you.

also forgot to mention left lever seems to have a more travel then right. Thanks for your response one question though if it was oiled and slipplng would it still work when pulled on hard. The clutch will stop power to the track with allot of effort

the brake bands do NOT like oil at all ...i have tried to boil the oil out of them and it still took two men and a boy pulling on the lever to stop the track put new linning on and then it worked great as for how far you can pull it back thats just adjustments you might get lucky and the clutch discs are ok... i just looked at your other post and it sounds like the clutck pack has oil in it also time to pull it and see just what you have
