If your MC has the Yakima toolbar then don't expect the six-way to be as fast. In fact, the Yakima toolbar is too fast for good control.
Early 40C w/Yakima toolbar and homebuilt ripper: 350 w/6-way

Hi,

My 58 420c takes about 3 seconds to pull the blade all the way up from the ground. So, it is pretty slow, and always has been.

Additionally, the oil pushes out of the cylinder faster than the oil flows in when dropping the blade. So, once the blade is back on the ground I get to hold the lever and wait another three seconds before I have downpressure to lift the front of the machine.

I think that was intentionally adjusted that way by my dad. It allows for a quick way to get some float movement of the blade for backdragging without having to flip the lever lock. That thing in a pain in the fingers if used more than a few times in the day.

Anyway, the main point is that the 420 hydraulic speed will be winning no trophies.... :P

my blade is same as the one in this post http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/ ... 4f434e3488

I disassembled the suction line and pipe going into the pump was a bit crushed Could be the culprit

working on changing fluids the gearbox was filled to the top plate with a water/gear lube mix was fun cleaning that out filled a 5 gallon bucket! had to use gasoline to get it clean was like glue! so time for a new boot lol
