Mc hydralic pump

Post by monzanick » Sun Jun 15, 2014 8:16 pm

So I gotta 2 piece pump that I was going to use to for my crawler. Unfortunately I have a 3 piece pump and the fittings are completely different. I removed the 3 piece pump and found the input shaft seal blown out and the bearing rollers falling out when I pulled the seal out.

So all I gotta do is replace the seal and bearing right? I went to my local napa where I got the last seal(napa number NOS 8749). Now napa can't figgure out where to get me another seal even though I gave them Their own part number.... :[

Then I tried to get the bearing.. "that number doesn't cross to anything we can see" ..
Its been 3 weeks now. I guess I can't rely on the kids @ the parts stores any more. Time to get the stuff off the internet.

Anyone need a 2 piece pump? I put a new seal in and some speedy sleeves on the gouged input shaft.

NAPA has an online system that you can look parts up, if the parts guys at the store are clueless.

I stock the bearings, but not the seal.

yes they are. I guess those bearings are used in 99-06 harleys for the cams.
I told my buddy with a harley that his bearings will prob last 64 years or so..

pump sealed up and installed

Got my pump in and it is working great! now to change the oil and I can quit worrying about the hydraulic/engine oil intermix. Not that that was too big a deal(same oil) just my engine oil dipstick is 3 inches overfull!

Next step, replacing the leaking rams...
