bolt/slip on rubber track pads

Post by Jd450/6-way » Wed Feb 11, 2015 2:45 pm

Has anyone used bolt/slip on rubber track pads on a john deere 450 to plow snow on a asphalt driveway or ran them in the dirt?

thanks Stefan

Can't say I've ever used rubber pads but I can tell you that sliding sideways down a steep gravel mountain road in the snow/ice with worn metal pads was a real thrill. (Not one I wish to repeat) I was turning around when the slide began. I had to drop my Drott bucket to stop the slide and get the machine turned up hill. I promptly took it home and parked it. If you are going to use it for snow they make tall snow pads for them but I wouldn't use them on pavement.
Any day you wake up breathing is a good day and the only easy day is yesterday.

Hi,

Even the snow pads turn into skates if there is the least bit of ice under the snow......
