350B steering issue
350B steers normal to the right, but have to pull the lever extremely hard to left for it to eventually go that direction. does anyone know if this might be steering clutches or brake band? im new to working on these and this machine has been sitting for a long time. thanks for any help or advice
Get a service manual if you don't have one, and try adjusting first, that will be the cheapest fix if it works.

Hi,
The clutches must disengage prior to the brake activating, or it won't steer. So, going thru the adjustment procedure is important.
The steel disc plates like to form a rust film, so they tend to grab more than when clean. If the adjustment works, be prepared to redo it after a few hours of use after the rust is worked off.
Also, if liquid water got in there (as opposed to water vapor, which just rusts the steels) then the fiber discs tend to swell up. If this happened, adjusting usually does not help. And, then it all has to come apart.
You need the service manual for sure. And, a parts manual is also very helpful since it is full of nice exploded view drawings.
