450 trans trouble

I have a 450 dozer pulls good in high and revers on the shuttle but no low and when I work it for about an hour it gets were it wont take gear my question is can it be fixed with out tearing it all the way down or am I going to have to pull the engine and dose some one have a manual they would sell to help on this
