Hi All,
First, Thanks for the leads on the final. I got the track off and all the bolts out, but that darned sprocket won't budge. I'm soaking it with pb blaster. Is there any tricks here, can I heat around the sprocket & axle then whack it? Don't want to damage sprocket.
I can't believe how loose the axle is in the housing. Rocks side to side a few inches!
Could this have caused the problems with right side having no drive? I started this with pulling the sprocket to check if steering axle splines were stripped. Thanks, Brian

sprocket removal
this won't help you now and may seem a bit brutal, but I soak them with some kind of rust buster, get the sprocket nuts a little loosened up and drive the machine around some until it works loose, then I head into the shop....an old timer showed me the trick and I have used it ever since.
maybe the next time this will help you.

Hi All,
I got it!
Soaking overnite, then many well placed hits with the sledge(block of hard wood inbetween) and it came right off. Thats the good news, The bad news is the final is SHOT! Turns out my steering drive axle is not stripped like I thought. I think everything got bound up and killed the steering clutch.
Thanks for the help Guys, Brian
