If I was only closer....
Excuse my ignorance but are the two hydraulic controls on the left side the power angle and tilt controls and the single control on the right side the blade height control? Both my 440ICDs have the 831 loader on them and both controls are on the right about where the single control is on this one.

Looks to be welded on grousers, so who knows how worn down they were before they boggered with them. The metal emblems are missing on the side, they are hard to find.
Ask for measurements (wear points) on the complete undercarriage, see what kind of excuses and zig zagging you get.
Based on their definition of "runs the best", if it will move, it qualifies.
Nothing but a chunk of iron that used to be a 440 in my opinion.
JMHO (just my humble opinion)

Hi,
Yep. It's in my neck of the woods, somewhat. Since we're all over the proverbial map, this is close enough to call it my neck of the woods.
I've been to that place before, and just recently. There was no 440 there at the time, or I'd have made mention of it here in case someone had interest in it. I figure the guy makes his living going around picking stuff up and then offering it on eBay. If you read my off-topic post about a skid steer that a friend bought and than I wound up with in my yard because it didn't run enough to unload off the trailer at his place....guess where it came from.....
The only way to know anything about this machine is to go to the place and figure it out on your own. I'd not rely on them for information beyond the photos they put into the eBay ad.
Personally, I'm not interested enough to make the 2.5 hour trip out to see just exacylt what shape it's in. I can tell by the eBay photos that my 420c looks like it just came off the end of the assembly line by comparison.
Now, if anyone wants to make a trip out, I'd be more than happy to tag along, meet up, etc. That'd be fun even if we weren't going to look at a crawler, come to think about it.
Later!
