Re: Anyone know what I have
Sounds like a gas engine that someone took out of a combine and put into the crawler. It's basically the same as a 2010 gas engine and will bolt into a 1010 or 2010. That being said, basic 1010 crawler is an entirely different machine than a 2010. Just look at some photos of others if you are unsure.puttputt wrote:I just bought a well im not sure what it is.Some say 1010 some say 2010.

Hi Puttputt-
Probably the most obvious difference will be in the undercarriage. For instance the 2010 and 1010 sprockets are compeletely different. Also the 2010s always have a solid front idler- however not as good an indicator because although a lot of 1010s had the spoked front idler, I have heard the solid idlers were an option for the 1010. The 1010s and 2010s also have a different number of links per track.
There are some other differences as well. Many (though not all) 2010s have the H-L-R powershift transmission- I don't believe the 1010s had that option. I think there are differences in the dash layout as well but can't remember right now.
I'm not sure what you mean by end of transmission- generally the behind the transmission is the steering clutch housings and final drives. However the steering clutches are dry (don't contain oil, hopefully) and the final drives have drain and fill pipe plugs. Do you mean in front of the transmission?

Hi Puttputt-
See my response in your other post, but I too believe it is a 1010 (based on sprocket configuration, spoked front idler, and number of links in track).
I believe manuals are still available from Deere or other sources such as EPay. You will want to get your own after a while.

I think its a 1010 to, But the guy i bought it from and another older guy thats had equipment said it was a 2010. Then i parked it beside the one my father has and there only a few things different, shifters on the floor, has a narrower blade mounted inside the tracks, other then that its exactly the same... I just want to be sure before i go parts hunting,It doesnt need much .A dash panel is really the only thing missing.other than that its in pretty good shape.
