Good luck on your wait. I waited a long time and finally gave up and bought my parts elsewhere. I've got no problem with waiting for something as long as I know about the wait from the beginning and can then plan accordingly. But, maybe things have gotten better there since my bad experience. I missed buying a cheap parts machine while waiting for my promised parts that I never got.rjamesh2008 wrote: ED at crawlerheaven.com ,fpr the parts, yes he needs a lil time to gather them together,, but be patient they will arrive
I had a problem with ed too. He sold me a muffler for my 350 that he had manufactured to be a replacement for the original. It didn't fit and although he offered to take it back. He would not reply to my earnest emails and phone calls. I thought that he would be interested in what I had to say having tried to install HIS new product. I guess I was wrong and he didn't care.
Not the kind of person that I want to deal with.

yes ,, but ED ,, is a good person and dealer,, as its just him and his wife runnin the business now,,but the understanding and knowledge that he has towards machines is fantastic,, out of 1900 dollars worth of parts , i had one bearing that was wrong,, in which serial number really made the differemnce in this one,, but made it right ,,, on drop shipping at his cost , just for the error,, yes people we are all human ,, we do make mistakes,, but his honesty in the whole deal was enough to say he is a reputable man ,, if your parts are in what i would say,, URGENT then consider elsewheres ,, but as LAVOY refered me to him ,, it was a one stop shop on a obsolete part that i had been searchin for a whole year to find,, plus all the new parts to rebuild a complete final from housing up,, as all of us deal with uncertainty and being scammed everyday,, my transaction was strictly over the phone,, and to buy parts over the phone,, this day in age is scary as a mug,, so tell me how many of you fellas would actually give that much money out over the phone without being scared of his reputation as a individual,, sorry to be defensive,, but he treated me far better then the yellow parts dealers ,, thank you for your time

I think James has a good point- Lavoy referred him to Ed so obviously Lavoy has respect for Ed's business. I do appreciate the information provides on their website. I did experience some delay in response from them on an e-mail request, but they did respond and were courteous in their response.
However I personally try to go to Lavoy first, as he was kind enough to set up this site and takes his time to answer our questions as best as possible. Lavoy's prices are competitive and the shipping is less than you think it would be. I have been very satisifed overall with the parts Lavoy has sent me. If Lavoy doesn't have it or can't get it, he is not shy about referring you to competitors, and that is somewhat rare in today's marketplace. Just my $0.02.

I mentioned Lavoy's name at first also and have had several great dealings with him .He now knows I am in bussiness and even beeing on the other side of the boarder he works things out faster than my yellow Deere dealer that I have spent more money at than any other place in my life .They Don't have the dignity to get off there stool and find a part .Or call me when it is in even .He has had all the expertees and go get it needed for the job .Also remember he made a big move lately that can screw things up .Digitup.
I don't have a "big axe to grind" here, and I can't argue about someone else's good experience.rjamesh2008 wrote:yes ,, but ED ,, is a good person and dealer,, as its just him and his wife runnin the business now
My experience with Ed was a bad one and I don't live that far away.
Being a "nice guy" is not necessarily the same as being good for your word. Good intentions are NOT the same as good deeds.
I called him on the phone and asked for parts. He said he had them, gave me prices, I agreed to buy, and he said he'd pull them within a few weeks. I waited months. Along the way, I contacted him, or tried to contact him many times - by phone and email. Mosty got responses back from a woman named Karen as I recall. Pretty much all replies were evasive and I got nowhere. In the meantime, I had a chance to buy a complete parts crawler nearby to me that had all the parts I wanted. So, I called Ed's place again in a final attempt to verify my parts would be coming. Email came back from Karen saying yes. It never happened and I lost the chance of buying that parts machine. Finally, I found another guy parting out crawlers in the same general area of northern NY. He pulled the parts I needed and even trucked them half way to my home and left them at his father's farm in the Adirondacks. I picked them up and all was fine.
I guess I don't agree that being a "nice guy" gives a person license to jerk somebody around - regardless if it was intentional or it just happened because he's one person who gets busy. I don't do it to people ever - and I'm also only one person.
