MC exhaust question - low mount option

Post by uppercanada » Thu Mar 19, 2009 2:40 am

Looked at an MC today with what looked like a factory "grove exhaust" (the exhaust comes horizontally right out of the manifold, not through the top of the machine - for clearance under trees for instance?)
The MC serial number was in the 17,000s.

What is the story on this setup? Is it common?

I found a picture of what I mean:

That is the orchard exhaust attachment, it is goes on top of the factory manifold, and routes the exhaust out on the side. Not a real common deal, but I have/have had several.

Thanks for clearing that up, Lavoy.

P.S., just a suggestion, if you wrote a book talking about the all of details of these machines (and how to restore them), I - and everyone else on here - would buy a copy for sure. However, I am aware that much good information, in one place, would be priceless (!) Even a version we could read on the computer would be great......

Hey! If you type with two fingers you can go TWICE as fast. And if you increase the font size you can fill the page faster too!

I already have to increase the font size just so I can read it!
