JD 450 in Sweden
perkins motor was in overseas model
ulf, i just remembered reading about the oversea's models that were assembled in germany and had perkins 3 cyl, engines,, i was reading your posts but now i see your at seven pages so i didn't take the time to see if you've positively identified the motor.,,,also, what does fuel cost in sweden?
Hello, my machine is Dubuque made and the engine is a T32342 202cui
4 cylinder diesel.
3 cyl. perkins in JD 450? Are you sure?
Fuel prices today are 11,47 kr /liter for diesel and 12,01 kr/ liter for gasoline.
That translates to 6,22 dollars/ gallon for diesel and 6,52 dollars/gallon for gasoline.
However, diesel was 14,50 kr / liter just last summer, prices go up and down like crazy for some reason.

Hi Ulf-
Gasoline around my parts (one of the cheaper areas in the U.S.) is around $2.15/gallon, slightly less for dyed diesel and slightly more for on-road diesel.
It certainly is an eye-opener to see fuel prices in Europe

You should consider yourselfes lucky with those fuelprices, must be at least 25 years ago that we had prices that low in Sweden.
Being a musclecar enthusiast i also envy your spareparts prices, when i look at for example Summit, prices in Sweden are twice as high.
Dare i ask how much a regular worker earns in the USA?

The Federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, but skilled Union craft labor can earn up to four to six times that amount.D557017 wrote:Dare i ask how much a regular worker earns in the USA?

Tigerhaze: that`s quite a large span, but what would be average?
I would say that a average Swedish worker makes about 3550 dollars a month, and after taxes he gets 2500 dollars left.
hugo: nice to hear from someone on my side of the Atlantic, even if Holland isn´t exactly next door.
I´m sure that if you take some more photos one of the gurus here will identifie your engine.
Yesterday i finally got the seals for the bucket cylinder, had to have them specialmade so i took a while.
Noticed that the piston was a bit bent, so i asked a friend to help me press it straight, but as soon as he put some pressure on it, the darned thing snapped into two pieces, so now i have a bunch of special made seals, and a piston in two pieces.
So i made some calls, but all i could locate was metric pistons, no inch diameter.
