2010 GAS ENGINE, OIL PUMP PRIMING TOOL

Post by GEARSRTRNIN » Mon Mar 08, 2010 7:25 pm

Hi there, I am new to the site with my first JD 2010 crawler project. I was wondering if there is an oil pump priming tool that fits the distributor port on the 2010 gas engine. This tractor has been sitting a while and I would like to get some oil up to the top.

The tool I am looking for is like this one for Chevy:

Has anyone ever seen one of these?

Thanks!

2010 diesel 165 (I am guessing) 145 gasser is the same. The oil pump is gear driven (meshed with) the cam shaft it is not possible to turn the oil pump without cranking the engine over. If I was going to pre oil, I would take the 1/8 pipe plug out at the right rear of the head or anyother plug along the oil gallory on the right side of the engine and use a pressurized can. However with spark plugs out or in my case fuel nozzles out, cranking the engine (will not/cannot) is just as good or best of all.....
