Evening,
I am going to take a little tension out of my tracks and planned on cleaning the adjusters before relieving some of the hyd. press on them. Figured there is no sense making the seal clean any more dirt than it has to.
I was wondering if Deere made sheet metal covers to help protect the track adjusters from dirt/mud? Or am I just not use to how dirty/muddy a dozer gets?
BTW here's a pic just cruising around still drying out the steering clutches. Pic 2 is the "financial manager" trying out my new purchase.
Thanks in advance,
Rick

Adjuster Covers
Rick, I have a JD350 and there are supposed to be sheet metal covers over the track adjusters. Mine are missing too but they show up in my parts manual and my shop manual. They are simply curved covers with bent flanges that bolt to the roller frames on both sides of the adjuster. They would be easy to make. There are some real experts on this forum that can tell you by serial number if your machine originally came with them or not. Good Luck.
I have the rear covers. Hard to tell in the pictures will all the snow.
I wondering if there were ones to cover the front of the adjuster, to keep all the garbage off the polished part of the cylinder. It looks like they don't make them.
Just getting the dozer all greased for spring and was trying to think of a way to keep that area cleaner.
I guess I could bend some up on a brake, or find some old used rears and adapt them to the front. I probably should see how many hours I am going to use it before getting to ambitious.
Thanks,
Rick
