1010 Final Drive or 350

Post by shanleyj » Wed Mar 31, 2010 3:51 am

Hello from Australia Guy's, i have a 1010 crawler and a u/s left hand side final drive it has been worked on by "blind Freddie" previously i think. Now, i have a JD Manual for my beast and the pics show a 6-8 spline output shaft and a composite bull gear however mine has a 19 or so tooth paralell spline and a full steel gear this is not shown on any revisions in my manual so the question is is it a 1010 box or maybe a 350? it has a castelated nut and washer to adjust preload not shims. also the clutch pack only has 7 steel and 7 composite faces, i can send box casting numbers etc, but just thought it might have a simple answer. i know i have 350 tracks fitted checked pin sizes and link roller sizes looks like they have just put them on worn 1010 sprockets can you tell me the offset of the 1010 sprocket or the 350 to help me to identify them please

any responses will be appreciated regards

John,
You have a 1010 with a serial number above about 31,000. You axle and gear are correct.
Someone has taken out a disc, there should be 15 or 16 plates depending on which drum it has.
1010 and 350 sprockets are completely different, will not directly interchange.

Thanks Lavoy
right again s/n 51684 on my unit. i suppose the bearing preload is going to be the same as the other series no's one problem i have is the inboard bearing has disintergrated and damaged the inboard bearing cone diameter of the box and i dont have the bearing number for replacement the quill shaft outboard bearing diameter is also u/s and the shaft shoulder length is damaged can you give me a set of specs to re machine my shaft please.
I need things like throwout bearing, clutch plates, pinion gear, quill shaft seal original or aftermarket and a list of bearing numbers , the pressure plate height gauge or the setting are these sort or parts and info available and how would i make an order and pay.
Sorry my questions are long winded but your site has been invaluable to me thus far we are in the midst of our "Fall" here the weather is still kind and my beast awaits!
Regards John.

John,
Just send me an e-mail with the parts you need and/or part numbers, and your full shipping address. There is a link I can give you to enter your own credit card info online, either Visa or Mastercard.
Shipping is no problem on smaller stuff like this, already have two orders leaving for Australia this week.
